Springtime in Central Ohio means that all of our favorite races are approaching soon all over the region, including Grove City. The best part about the fitness events around Central Ohio is that most of them, if not all, support local charities, so its more than just a race. Here are just a few of the many great races in Grove City and Central Ohio.

Columbus Family Mother’s Day 5K Run/Walk

Mother’s Day in Grove City means more than just giving mom breakfast in bed. Instead of the typical Mother’s Day traditions, people come to Grove City to run in honor of their mothers at the Columbus Family Mother’s Day 5K Run/Walk.

The 5K takes place at Lamplighter Drive in Grove City on Sunday, May 8th at 8:00 AM. Registration is $35 for adults. Find out more on the race’s official website.

MommyMile 5K

Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend with a 5K Race and 1 Mile walk dedicated toward a great cause! MommyMile partners with the Ronald McDonald House in an event for the whole family. Whether you are a soon-to-be mom, a new mom, or if you’re an experienced mom, bring your family and friends in an at-your-own-pace walk to celebrate motherhood. Strollers are welcome, so you can bring along your biggest fans!

The 5K takes place at Polaris Fashion Place on Saturday, May 7th from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Registration is $45 for adults, and comes with prizes and free gifts for participating. Find out more on the MommyMile website.

Race for the Cure

Join in on the 24th Annual Komen Columbus Race for the Cure in downtown Columbus! The Susan G. Komen Race is the world’s largest fundraising and education event for breast cancer fighters and survivors, and you can participate by walking, running, volunteering or donating to show your support. The Race for the Cure offers a 5K and a Family Fun Walk course.

This year’s race will be on May 14th, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. It’s not too late to register; $35 for adults, and $30 for survivors of breast cancer. Learn more on their website.

HOOFit WALK at the Zoo

By far one of the best things about summertime in Central Ohio is our incredible zoo! On Tuesday, May 17th, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, join the OhioHealth HOOFit Walks to learn how you can stay healthy through a little bit of exercise each day. An OhioHealth physician and Zoo animal expert will team up to guide the whole family through some healthy tips (and to share how the animals stay fit too)!

Registration is free with Zoo admission and begins at 9:00 the day of. You can pre-register online at the OhioHealth website.
